Tan Pey Shiuan received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the National University of Singapore. Prior to joining private practice, she honed her clinical experience as the Dental Officer in-charge of MINDEF dental clinic.
She provided advanced general dentistry to servicemen, such as wisdom teeth surgeries, crown, bridges and root canal treatments. She also gained valuable experience working with a team of dental specialists at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where medically complex patients came in for their dental treatment. She focused on treatment planning, advanced general dentistry including denture fabrication and also managed dental trauma coming in from the emergency department.
Dr Pey Shiuan is committed to providing holistic care for her patients and believes in the gentle approach towards her patients. She understands that dental visits may cause anxiety in many patients and aims to make every dental visit a pleasant experience.
Believing that learning is endless, she regularly keeps up to date with the latest dental developments and has attended courses in dental implants, clear aligners and root canal treatment courses.
In her free time, she enjoys travelling, playing tennis and picking up new hobbies.

Taking out a deeply impacted wisdom tooth. It was challenging as the angulation of the tooth made it hard to remove it but knowing exactly how to section the tooth allowed me to remove it uneventfully eventually. The harder the case, the higher the level of satisfaction I derive after completing the procedure.

Being able to explain difficult procedures in a simple way that patients would understand and empathy towards anxious patients. Patients are usually anxious for their dental appointments and helping them to understand what the procedure entails is a good way of reassuring them and making sure that they are aware of what is going to happen.
